Cloud Over Kentucky Lake

This oil painting happened after experiencing a golden moment on Kentucky Lake. The sun had set and this cloud, which had been a normal white cloud in the sky, became illuminated with wonderful, warm pinks and oranges. I took photos and quickly sketched what I saw for values. I then did a gouache miniature to try to capture the exact colors I was seeing.
