Rocky Mountain Horse Ranch

This is a studio painting done exclusively with a palette knife. The location is just outside of Estes Park, Colorado where I found these delightful horses feeding near the road as I looked for places to paint. Eight or nine of the horses came to me at the fence as I gazed at them. Beautiful animals! I took photos and painted this painting when I returned to California.
