This watercolor was painted from and inspiring sunset observed on my way home from my daughters home in the country. The first part of the drive is on a gravel road where I observed about 50 deer feeding in the twilight. When I turned on to the blacktop and headed south the sky seemed to be splitting over this farmstead. The sky was so dramatic and the land shapes so dim and nearly overtaken by dusk it was such an intriguing contrast. This is a studio painting from a quick sketch and backup photo.
