El Farito

"El Farito" is the nickname given to the lighthouse at Key Biscayne, Florida. My kids and I went on a bike ride all along the shore on a windy summer day. Beautiful photos were taken but the photo I based this painting on was one of my favorites. There were more people on the picture, but I enjoyed watching the mother and son as they walked to the lighthouse. The lady sitting on the bench had a friend next to her but he didn't seem to fit in. Then there is the couple on the top of the lighthouse looking down, They were tough to paint due to the small size. I love putting people in my landscapes demonstrating how humans appreciate mother nature.
