River Morning

The first morning sunrise over the Rappahannock River in Virginia I saw after the breakout of the Covid Pandemic. This piece captures a feeling of a new beginning of a new chapter. It was the first time my family was together in person and had a chance to heal in person from the trauma of the pandemic. I used a digital photo I personally took as a guide, but let the feelings of the moment guide my simplification, and abstraction to focus on the emotional response of the piece.
