McCloud Falls

This is an acrylic painting of one of my favorite places to spend time in all seasons. After a decade of summertime visits here, camping, fishing, and swimming in the McCloud river with our kids, my husband and I bought a cabin nearby. We snowshoed out along the river one evening to arrive at this waterfall at dusk. I captured a reference photo before hiking back in the dark with headlamps lighting the way. Back in our cozy cabin, I spent the next few days by the fire, painting this beautiful snow-covered scene which holds a place in my heart, filled with fun family memories.
