This acrylic painting showcases the beauty of Mount Shasta in a winter wonderland scene. I began my process with an intuitive dance of warm colorful brushstrokes with a wide paintbrush. From there I covered over with layers of blues, greens, purples, black, and white. Once the basic forms of the landscape were set, I enjoyed bringing all the details into focus with smaller brushes. You can see some of the warm layers of paint coming through in the sky and the mountain, creating depth and a majestic quality. I painted this piece in our cabin, located on the east side of Mount Shasta. I believe the energy of the mountain inspired this painting as I channeled it without any reference photo.
