Portrait Of The Sea

This is an acrylic painting of a cresting wave on one of my favorite beaches in Albion California. It was a moody damp day during a rain storm. My goal with this piece was to highlight the dramatic beauty of a stormy day on the beach. In contrast to what most people might think of as a beautiful beach day, I included every possible technique to give the feeling of brooding dampness, wind, and stormy sea-spray throughout. Celebrating the unlikely beauty of "unsavory" weather.
