Cracking Up

This is an acrylic painting of my 21 year old daughter in a moment of pure joy and laughter. She was standing in a lake wearing a bright yellow bikini, her hair still damp from swimming. My intention with this piece was to capture her expression of bliss and shine it out into the world, so that anyone who views it will be flooded with happiness, even if just for a moment. The background intends to express her exuberance in bright warm colors bursting from within, breaking up or "cracking up" the cool darker colors encroaching around the edges. The joyful yellow flowers framing her face, accentuate the feeling of sunshine.
