The Hay Barn

The painting is in oil but was inspired by a watercolor painting I did of a similar scene. I liked the way the colors worked together in the watercolor with the barren trees against the white snow contrasting. The oil has more detail and, of course, is larger. It being a farm scene I included a barbed wire fence and a lone apple tree in the foreground. Tending toward impressionism in my style of painting this was painted ala prima with loose brush strokes.
