On a beautiful sunny summer day, with a gently breeze causing the goldenrod to gently sway, I painted en plein air. The lichen on the old wagon caught my eye and became an important part of the work. On an ordinary day of farming and building fence, the beauty of the simple things turned it into an extraordinary day filled with possibility and art.
