Painted from photo I took of the Catalina Island Casino when I lived and worked on the island between 2019-2022. I loved the view of the casino between the eucalyptus trees lining the Chimes Tower Road, by the Zane Grey Hotel. I painted this large canvas on the wall of my living room on Whittley Avenue in Catalina, because I did not have a studio at the time. This painting won the 2021 Catalina Island Art Festival Award in the Fall of 2021. I painted as a way of coping with the demands of working as a director of mental health for the Catalina Island Hospital for two years of the pandemic.
