Catalina Dreaming

I painted this painting in plein air sitting on my porch on Whittley Avenue on the hillside of Catalina Island. It was right after the fires in Southern California, and the sky was a hazy pink. I wanted to capture the light and the colors on my deck that were so beautiful. I sat with my easel looking at the scene until dark and the painting was done.
