Painted during Cape Ann Plein Air, a wretched rainy cold day, drove and drove looking for a sheltered spot..finally just pulled over and told myself to paint what was right in front of me..intrigued by the dark entry way and the gritty scene, hardly any color. Stopped midway to warm up with a bowl of chowder.
