Two Eagles Peak is in Big Pine Canyon area of the John Muir Wilderness in the High Sierra. I’ve taken many mule pack trips into this beautiful canyon to camp & paint for extended periods at a time. It also happens to be a place where many of the early California plein air painters, such as Edgar Payne, also painted. It is truly an inspirational place for me! I generally paint small works on location, and then take the studies home to work sone of them up into larger studio pieces like this one.
