Snow Melt

This was painted in the steep slopes above my (former) home in Silver City, Nevada, where I took my daily walks. People often think of Nevada as rather barren and gray, but I found it a very interesting place to paint. With sparse vegetation the geology is laid bare, rugged and raw, which is what I prefer to paint.
